Grab him quick and the banner wont get aggro. A few of them died, but eventually the boss spawned and after maybe 5 minutes or so of him trashing the remaining battle priests, he made his way up to the banner.
My solution was to simply stay back, maybe 3 feet in front of the banner, and let the NPC's fight. The tattered banner just in front of the argent banner seems to be the "line" that you cant cross, otherwise the quest becomes glitched. W - |.Comment by KhanorI found this bugged as well.
